Fatal multi-car pileup near congressional motorcade in Maryland

Distractions on Maryland roadways do not always have to do with smartphones or "Facebooking" while driving. Indeed, sometimes there is a distraction that presents itself on the outside of vehicles and it causes drivers to become so distracted that they stop paying attention to what's most important -- the road in front of them. In a crash that happened earlier this week, for example, Maryland drivers were distracted by a Congressional motorcade and a fatal accident resulted.

Is January divorce season?

Divorce attorneys throughout Maryland and the rest of the United States will agree that January really is divorce season. The fact is that after all the complexities, financial and emotional stresses of the holiday season, once the new year comes around, many couples decide to call it quits.

How to argue that your traffic violation was justified

Accused drivers can employ a lot of different criminal defense strategies in order to fight a traffic ticket in court. Depending on the evidence that a police officer presents against you in court, you may want to try and argue that the alleged driving offense did, in fact, occur, but that the driving infraction was justified.

Do your resolutions this year include a divorce?

The ornaments are all packed away for another year. The tree is curbside to be recycled. Thoughts have turned from the holidays to the changes the coming year may bring. If you and your spouse have been teetering on the brink of splitting up for a while, it's quite likely that one or both of you may be considering filing for divorce in 2017.

The costs relating to traffic tickets and DUI can be high

Driving drunk or driving at a high rate of speed can result in drivers paying high-level fines in Maryland. However, the costs of a traffic ticket or DUI do not stop there. These violations -- even a seemingly inconsequential speeding ticket -- can result in auto insurance rate hikes that will hurt your long-term financial situation.
