5 example personal injury scenarios

On Behalf of | Oct 19, 2018 | Firm News, Motor Vehicle Accident |

In the typical personal injury law practice, lawyers see a wide variety of cases. Often the most common relate to car accident injuries, as it’s in these accidents that one party is often at fault for another party’s injuries. However, there are numerous other scenarios that can lead to an accident due to the fault of another party.

Here are five examples of case scenarios our firm might see coming in our door:

Swimming pool accidents

The wet and slippery surfaces around a swimming pool can spell disaster for those who are enjoying the pool on any given day. Slip-and-fall accidents that result in serious head injuries are common around pools. Drownings are, unfortunately, a frequent occurrence as well.

Pedestrian and bicycle versus car accidents

Unfortunately, pedestrians and bicyclists don’t have any kind of protection in the event of a car accident. If a car strikes them, they are bound to suffer broken bones and other catastrophic injuries or death. If the vehicle driver was at fault — which they often are — the driver could be financially liable.

Dog attacks

The owners of dogs and other animals are responsible for preventing their animals from attacking and injuring others. Being negligent in this regard could result in serious injuries to community members when a dog attacks. These victims will usually have the ability to pursue legal claims in court.

Slip-and-fall accidents

Shopping malls, grocery stores and other places frequented by the public on a regular basis have a duty to keep their premises safe and free of unnecessary slip-and-fall risks. The owners and/or managers of these properties could be liable in the event of a serious accident and injuries.

Ultimately, the liability of the at-fault or negligent parties in the above example cases will depend on a wide variety of factors. At our law firm, it’s our job to represent those who have been injured in such accidents to help them receive just compensation to pay for their medical care and other damages.
