Are you being as safe as possible on the road?

You drive the speed limit, you never drive after drinking and you think of yourself as a "defensive driver." In other words, you find your health and safety – and the safety of others – far more important than getting from A to B a few minutes faster. However, you might not be doing everything you can to stay safe, so it's important to stay up-to-date on all the best safety practices on a regular basis.

What is whiplash?

We've all heard of whiplash, but unless you're actually suffering from the condition, you may not know exactly what it is. Whiplash is one of the most common injuries associated with car accidents, and it can be extremely painful and uncomfortable. It can also result in complications that render a car accident victim temporarily unable to work and temporarily unable to enjoy his or her daily activities.

Ford Motor Company expands it Takata airbag recall

The last few years have been full of news about the massive, worldwide recall of vehicles that have Takata airbags installed inside of them. Millions of cars have been recalled because of these deadly airbags, which have exploded inside vehicles and killed people throughout the world. You might believe that all of the cars that contain these airbags have already been recalled -- and hopefully most of them repaired -- but some unrecalled vehicles still contain these defective Takata products.

Is driving with headlights during the day a bright idea?

During the day, when it's bright and sunny, you don't need your headlights to see where you're going, right? While this is true, you might want to consider turning your headlights on, anyway -- especially because safety researchers have proven that it will lower your risks of getting into a car accident.

Does your car have electronic stability control?

The biggest auto manufacturers are pushing the envelope of what's possible in terms of car safety. The latest advancements include numerous systems designed to prevent accidents, help us stay in control of our vehicles and, ultimately, save lives. One of the more recent car safety advancements is known as electronic stability control, or ESC.

Car accidents, wrongful death and criminal law

Imagine for a moment that a Maryland mother loses her husband in a tragic car accident. After police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, they realize that the man who struck the woman's husband was drunk. Authorities arrest the at-fault driver, charge him with vehicular homicide, DUI and other crimes -- which the diver must now face in criminal court.

45-year-old mother dies in tragic car crash

When it comes to staying safe on the road, Maryland drivers often do everything they can to prevent getting into a collision, and to keep their families safe. However, fatal and injurious crashes happen despite our best efforts, and their aftereffects can send shockwaves through the community.

Can I make a claim for pain and suffering damages?

It doesn't matter if a plaintiff can receive a million dollars in personal injury compensation: Money is never a suitable exchange for one's health. However, financial compensation is the only way Maryland courts have of making things right after a negligent party hurts someone. As such, the questions of "How much money can I receive?" and "What kinds of damages can I claim?" are usually some of the most important ones on every plaintiff's mind.
